Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty gained 66.25 points to 17955.2, while the BSE Sensex traded 201.83 points up at 60230.89.
On the other hand, Digjam L, Shiva Mills, Sobha, eClerx Services and Mazagon Dock Ship stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, UPL, L&T, Indian Oil Corp., Hindalco and UltraTech Cem. were among the top gainers on the NSE.
Sun Pharma, Divis Labs, Titan Company, Britannia and Hero MotoCorp were among the top losers.
