Jerry Springer, Other Guest Stars to Host ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ As Star Takes Another Month To Recover

Wendy Williams will be absent from The Wendy Williams Show‘s Season 13 through the month of November. As she continues to recover from ongoing health issues, the Fox talk show has assembled a new lineup of guest hosts to fill in for her, such as Jerry Springer, Michael Rapaport, and Bill Bellamy.

Rapaport will guest host the week of Nov. 8, followed by an all-new hot talk panel on Monday, Nov. 15. Bellamy will then take over on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and Wednesday, Nov. 17. Next, Jerry Springer and fellow daytime host Steve Wilkos will host on Thursday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Nov. 19.

“I’m very excited to fill in for Wendy and I’m looking forward to a great week of excellent shows,” Rapaport shared in a statement.

Meanwhile, Bellamy said, “I have always loved being a guest on my friend Wendy’s show! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be here for her and I look forward to working with her amazing team.”

Other recent guest hosts include Leah Remini, Devyn Simone, Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister, and Michael Yo. The Season 13 premiere was originally pushed back from Sept. 20 to Oct. 4 after Williams tested positive for breakthrough COVID-19 amid ongoing health struggles. It was then pushed back to Oct. 18 as she continued recovering.

“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complication as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition,” the show’s Oct. 12 Instagram statement stated. “It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties… As soon as she’s ready, she will be back in her treasured purple chair.”
