MEA announces more new postings, Sanjay Bhattacharyya to take over in Switzerland

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) In more new postings, the Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday announced that Sanjay Bhattacharyya, presently Secretary in the MEA, has been appointed as the next Ambassador to Switzerland.

The MEA said that Partha Satpathy, presently Ambassador to Ukraine, has been appointed as the next envoy to Hungary, while Ajaneesh Kumar, the current Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, will be the new Ambassador to Estonia.

Sanjay Bhattacharyya, an Indian Foreign Service officer of 1987 batch, is Secretary, Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs.

On November 1, the MEA had named Pavan Kapoor, currently the Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, as the next envoy to Russia.

It named Sunjay Sudhir, the Indian High Commissioner in the Maldives, as the next Ambassador to the UAE, and Dinesh K. Patnaik, currently the Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, as the next Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

D. Bala Venkatesh Varma, who was Ambassador to Russia, has retired.
