The situation in the African country of ethiopia is becoming uncontrollable. The rebels who created terror in Tigray here are now moving towards the capital, Addis Ababa.

Ethiopia Declares National Emergency: The situation in the African country of ethiopia is deteriorating rapidly. The violence that has been going on in the country for a long time now seems to be becoming a crisis for the government. 

In view of the seriousness of the situation, the cabinet on tuesday declared a nationwide state of emergency (Civil war in Ethiopia). This decision was taken after the insurgents who created terror after the capture of the Tigre region, captured two more strategically important cities of Desi and Combolcha. 

Government media has told that now these people are moving towards the capital Addis Ababa.

Asked people to be ready for battle

There is a blackout in much of northern Ethiopia. Even journalists are denied access, making it difficult to independently verify claims being made from the battlefield. 

Earlier on tuesday, Addis Ababa officials told civilians to register their weapons over the next two days and be ready to defend the city.

Why did the government send soldiers to Tigray?

Ethiopian prime minister Abiy ahmed sent troops to the Tigay region in november 2020 in response to the TPLF's attack on army camps. The organization then called the TPLF said the federal government and its allies, including Eritrea, had launched a "coordinated attack" against it.

PM claimed victory shortly thereafter, but by the end of june Tigray's fighters had regrouped and recaptured most of the territory (How war Started in Tigray). 

This fight has spread to other areas as well. Thousands of people have died in the fighting and more than 2.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes.
