'They're both infinitely happier': Sara Ali Khan opens up about her parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's divorce

Bollywood diva Sara Ali Khan, who has carved a niche for herself in the film industry in a short span of time, recently opened up about her parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's divorce.
Stating that she had the tendency to mature a bit faster than others her age, Sara Ali Khan said in a recent interview that it was because of this maturity that she understood at the tender age of 9 that her parents, Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, were happy living in two separate homes and not together.
In her interview with Harper's Bazaar India, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her growing up years, her future goals, among other things.
While speaking about her parents' divorce, Sara recalled both of them being unhappy together. Speaking with the magazine, Sara Ali Khan said, "I've always had the tendency to mature a bit faster than others my age. And even at the age of 9, I think I had the maturity to see that these two people living together in our home were not happy. And suddenly, they were much happier living in two new homes. For instance, my mom, who I don’t think had laughed in 10 years, was suddenly happy, beautiful, and excited, like she deserves to be. Why would I be unhappy if I have two happy parents in two happy homes? So no, I don't think that was difficult at all."
"They're both infinitely happier and in a much more positive space today. I see my mom laughing and joking and being silly, which is something I have missed for so many years. It's a joyful relief to see her like this again," she added.
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh tied the knot in 1991 and welcome the Sara Ali Khan in 1995. They also have a son together, Ibrahim Ali Khan. In 2004, Saif and Amrita parted ways after things got ugly between the two.
Currently, Saif is married to Kareena Kapoor and they have two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Sara, Ibrahim and Saif's children with Kareena all share a great bond and are often seen celebrating festivals and special occasions together. Sara had even attended Saif and Kareena's wedding.
