Tabu, one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood, will turn a year older on November 4. Over the years, the actor has done some well-acclaimed films and her acting prowess has helped her bag several prestigious accolades including Padam Shri. She received her first National Award for her stint in the film Maachis.
Born as Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, the actor made her acting debut in Dev Anand’s Hum Naujawan in 1985. However, her first lead role was in the Telugu film Coolie No.1. From working with noted filmmakers like Mani Ratnam, Gulzar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Priyadarshan, and K. Raghavendra Rao, she has surely come a long way.

- Tabu was born in Kolkata was grew up with her mother Rizawana Hashmi. Her parents got divorced when she was young.
- She is the niece of veteran and accomplished actor Shabana Azmi and Baba Azmi and Tanvi Azmi is her uncle and aunt.
- Tabu first appeared in Bollywood film Bazaar when she was just 10-year-old. Later, At she played Dev Anand’s daughter in Hum Naujawan at the age of 14.
- As per media reports, Tabu’s first film was destined to be Prem co-starring Sanjay Kapoor. The making of the film took almost 8 years and the film failed miserably in the box office.
- In an old interview, Tabu had revealed that she could still not cry on sets for any scene and still uses glycerine for an emotional scene.
