EAM welcomes WHO recognition to Covaxin, says it will facilitate travel for Indians

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday welcomed the WHO’s decision to grant Emergency Use Listing to Covaxin saying it will facilitate travel for many Indian citizens and it is also a global recognition for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

“Welcome @WHO’s decision to grant Emergency Use Listing to #COVAXIN.

“It facilitates travel for many Indian citizens and contributes to vaccine equity.

“Also a global recognition to PM @narendramodi’s vision of an #AtmanirbharBharat.

“A Happier Diwali,” he tweeted.

India’s Permanent Mission in Geneva in a tweet said that this is the maiden WHO authorization given to a Covid Vaccine, fully developed and produced in India, giving impetus to Vaccine Equity globally.

“WHO grants Emergency Use Listing to the @BharatBiotech’s #Covaxin!

“This is the maiden @WHO authorization given to a COVID Vaccine, fully developed and produced in India giving impetus to #VaccineEquity globally. #AatmanirbharBharat #MakeInIndia,” it said.
