TIM to bring gigabit fibre to Paese

Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced an agreement with the town council of Paese, a locality in the northeastern Treviso region to roll out a fibre-to-the-home network in what will be a total investment of EUR 2.5 million. The company said the build has already begun in many areas and will eventually enable residents in around 5,000 homes to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's existing FTTC network in Paese covers around 6,900 homes.
