Imphal, November 01 2021: Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that the objective of the Government is to deliver good governance to the people at their doorsteps.
He was speaking to media persons at a press conference held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today.
N Biren Singh further informed that the Government is all set to launch the 'Go to Village 2.0' at Thoubal tomorrow.
A three day camp in connection with the outreach programme will be held at Thoubal Moijing Public ground, he said while adding that with the love and support of the people, the Government has achieved milestones in terms of development and welfare of the people.
As done in earlier GTV camps, the Government officials would identify the eligible and deserving beneficiaries under various welfare schemes such as PMJAY, CMHT, CMST, Old aged pension card, free gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, distribution of affordable LEDs under Ujala scheme etc and would deliver Government services on the spot.

Free vaccination camps will also be organised at the site of GTV, he added.
Shumang Kumhei such as 'Keidoubagi Kidoino' produced by DIPR and "Ereipakkidamak" produced by the Education Department will also be showcased at every GTV camp, he added.
The Chief Minister further stated that all the valley districts of the State will be covered during the GTV 2.0.He mentioned that after considering the public's demand, various camps would be organised at different places of a district.
N Biren Singh also announced that 'CM Widow Pension Scheme' to provide monetary support to widows will be launched tomorrow.
A total of 10,000 widows will be benefited from the scheme, he added.
The Chief Minister mentioned that Rs 500 will be provided to each beneficiary every month.
The Chief Minister also said that the Government is targeting to increase the number of beneficiaries under Manipur Old Age Pension scheme.
The existing number of beneficiaries under the said scheme is 66,738, he added.
Now, a total of 6,000 beneficiaries will be getting a sum of Rs 500 per month under the scheme, he added.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, the State Government will contribute Rs 200 as State share from now on.
So, a total of 1030 beneficiaries will be getting Rs 500 per month under this scheme, he added.
Mention may be made that the Go to Village Mission, brainchild of N Biren Singh, was launched on May 1, 2018.Minister for Education S Rajen Singh, Minister for CAF&PD Th Satyabrata, Chairman Manipur Pollution Control Board L Radhakishore, Chairman Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Board H Dingo, MLA of Kshetrigao AC N Indrajit, Secretary to CM Ningthoujam Geoffrey and others were present during the press conference.
