NEW DELHI: India has registered 10,423 new Covid-19 cases and 443 deaths in the last 24 hours, a government bulletin released on Tuesday stated. The number of daily new cases was the lowest in 259 days, as per government data.

India's tally of Covid cases has risen to 3,42,96,237 and the death toll to 4,58,880. The current recovery rate in India is 98.21%, the highest since March 2020.

As many as 15,021 recoveries in the last 24 hours have pushed the total number of people who have recovered from the disease so far to 3,36,83,581, the Union health ministry data showed.
India's active caseload at present stands at 1,53,776, the lowest in 250 days, the government also said. Active cases now account for less than 1% of total cases (0.45%), which is also the lowest since March 2020.

At 1.03%, the daily positivity rate in India has remained less than 2% for the last 29 days. The weekly positivity rate, at 1.16%, has been below 2% for the last 39 days.
Over 61.02 crore tests have been conducted in the country so far, with 10,09,045 samples having been tested in 24 hours, the ministry bulletin also showed.

A total of 1,06,85,71,879 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive in India. The health ministry added that as many as 52,39,444 doses of Covid vaccines were administered across the nation in 24 hours.
