South Africa vs Bangladesh HIGHLIGHTS, ICC T20 World Cup 2021: SA Overcome Initial Hiccups to Beat BAN By 6 Wickets

David Millers hits the winning runs as South Africa beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets. Chasing 84, South Africa lost three early wickets. Skipper Temba Bavuma and Rassie Vavn De Dussen then stabilised the Protean innings and added 47 runs for the fourth wicket to help South Africa cross the line with 39 balls remaining.

With just 5 runs needed to win, Rassie went for glory but could not time it as the ball went up and up. Shoriful followed the ball and ran backwards to take a stunner.

Soumya Sarkar was given the ball here by Mahmudullah and and the top order batter gave away 7 runs in his first over. A boundary off the 5th ball and the remaining runs came in singles.

South Africa are inching close towards the winning totsal of 85 runs. Mahedi HAsan was given the ball for the second time here and the slow bowler gave away 5 runs, all of them in singles.

So, we have reached the halfway stage of South Africa’s innings and the Proteas have 55 runs on the board and need 30 more runs in the next 60 balls. Looks like a cakewalk but you never know, anything could happen here! Shoriful bowled his fourth over of the matchj and conceded 5 runs.

Nasum Ahmed was brought into the attack by Mahmudullah here and it proved to be an expensive bowling change as he was hit for 9 runs in his first over. Naum started the over with a dot ball, was then hit towards the deep midwicket for a couple then Bavuma clobbered him for a maximum over midwicket.

And that brings the end of Taskin Ahmed’s bowling for the day. He gave away just 4 runs in his last over which came courtesy Bavuma’s bat on the fourth ball of the pver. Other than that boundary, Taskin kept SA batters in check.

Shoriful continues for Bangladesh here! He bowled his third over here and gave away just 4 runs. It was a neat and tidy over as SA batters could score only 1 runs from the first 5 deliveries. Then Bavuma pushed one between cover-point and cover for three runs on the last ball of the over.

Taskin Ahmed bowled his third over of the match here and he gave away just 5 runs but most importantly picked up the crucial wicket of Aiden Markram. He bowled a tight line throughout and even got movement off the pitch to continuously test SA batters.

Is this going to be one of South Africa’s infamous batting collapses? Looks like! Taskin Ahmed bowls one just outside off and Aiden Markram edges it and Naim takes a cath at slip.

Bangladesh are not exactly out of the game just yet, they could pull a rabbit out of the hat here! Chasing 84, South Africa have already lost 2 wickets and this could affect them mentally on the other batters. Mahedi Hasan bowled his first over of the match here and he struck gold righaway!

There there! Mahedi Hasan has handed an opening for Bangladesh here by cleaning up Quinton de Kock. QDK missed the line of the ball and saw his stumps clattered.

It was not the greates starts for South Adfrica there but they are slowly taking over control of the match. Shoriful mbowled his second over of the match there and what could have been a wonderful maiden over was spoiled with boundary clipped by Rassie

Taskin Ahmed continued with his decent pace and the muscular bowler gave away 7 runs from his second over of the match. It was turning out to be another tight over as he conceded just 3 runs from the first five balls. However, he bowled a shortish delivery then and QDK will not miss out on hitting them everytime!

Are we set to witness a dramatic run chase here? Looks like! Shoriful Islam was given the ball to bowl the second over of the match and the left-arm pacer rolled out a decent one where he gave away just 3 runs. Bangladesh bowlers are also finding some movement out of the pitch here so far.

Don’t discard Bangladesh just yet! Taskin Ahmed has handed Bangladesh a good start by dismissing Rezza Hendricks on the last ball of the first over.

Well, that’s the end of the misery for Bangladesh as Anrich Nortje takes back-to-back wickets to end Bangladesh’s innings. A full-on delivery and Nasum Ahmed hits the wicket with the bat. In the earlier ball, Nortje removed Mahedi Hasan.

A good over that for Bangladesh considering they have been losing wickets at regular intervals but were not scoring properly. In this over, they did lose a wicket but scored 9 runs.

Kagiso Rabda completed his quota of 4 overs here and he conceded 6 runs from his last over. All these runs came in singles, doubles and extras in the form of no-balls.
