Nagpur: 12-year-old Kuldeep Rajput died and his grandmother Sushma Kashyap (60) sustained serious burns after a LPG cylinder caught fire on Monday. Police said the incident occurred at CPWD quarters in Telangkhedi. Police said Kuldeep was a Std VII student and used to stay with his maternal uncle. On Monday afternoon, his grandmother was preparing Diwali snacks in the kitchen. Kuldeep accidentally pulled the cylinder pipe which resulted in the fire, said police. “He sustained serious burns. His grandmother got burnt while trying to douse the fire,” said the police. NMC’s fire tender doused the fire and shifted Kuldeep and his grandmother to a hospital. The doctors declared Kuldeep brought dead, while Sushma is said to be critical. The Sadar police have registered a case of accidental death.
