EAST WINDSOR — Police are investigating an incident where a man fired multiple shots at a woman — and missed — early this morning at the Mill Pond Village apartment complex and on Mill Street in what a police official has labeled a domestic dispute.

Police have made no arrest as of late this morning but have identified a person of interest in the case, Sgt. Derek Leab, a police spokesman, said.

Police responded to Townhouse Road, located within the Mill Pond Village apartment complex, at 3:01 a.m. after multiple 911 calls reported shots fired, Leab said.

A man had fired multiple shots from a handgun at a woman while she was in her car at the complex, he said. The man eventually got into his vehicle and chased the woman until she was run off the road on Mill Street where he fired more shots at her, he said.

Leab would not provide the relationship status of the man and the woman.

The investigation is ongoing as police are working toward obtaining search warrants as well as collecting evidence and reviewing camera footage from inside the complex, Leab said.
