Critics Forum Manipur celebrates foundation day

Imphal, November 01 2021: Critics Forum Manipur celebrated its 16th foundation day at the auditorium of Kanglei Mime Theatre, Langthabal Kunja on Monday.
Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Yumnam Khemchand and Critics Forum Manipur vice-president Dr Nongthombam Premchand attended the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking at the event, Khemchand observed that the status of art & culture and sports are not in good position in the state though they bring fame to the state.
Despite the contribution of art and culture, its place is diminishing in the present society.
Several art forms are dying gradually and there is need for concerted efforts to promote art and culture, stressed Khemchand, who conceded that as he grew up as a sportsperson he has no knowledge about art and culture.
He, however, expressed willingness to extend support in this regard.
Renowned theatre actor (female) Heisnam Sabitri spoke on Eigi Theatregi Khongchat' on the occasion.
She was also presented cash award of Rs 5000 sponsored by Critics Forum president Lamabam Gojendra.
Award winning forum members Yumnam Rajendra, Dr Lamabam Gojendra, Loitongbam Brajamohan, Pukhrambam Khogendro, Ningombam Jadumani and S Thaninleima were also honoured as part of the function, the morning session of which was attended by renowned film actor Kangabam Tomba and Forum vice-president Dr Nongthombam Premchand as chief guest and president respectively.
Speakers and sponsors of the forum's five-month long programme 'Leipung Famba' were also honoured during the session.
