5 in Assam, 4 in West bengal, 1 each in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Mizoram and Telangana, 3 each in Himachal Pradesh, madhya pradesh and Meghalaya, and 3 each in madhya pradesh, Khandwa, Himachal Pradesh, Mandra, and Union Territories The by-elections for the constituencies were held last Saturday.

The registered votes are being counted from this morning. At present, the ruling Trinamool congress, which has won one seat in West bengal, is leading in the remaining three constituencies. Similarly, the bjp alliance is leading in all 5 constituencies in Assam.

The Janata Dal and the RJD are leading in one of the two constituencies in Bihar. In Himachal Pradesh, the congress is leading in two of the three constituencies and the ruling bjp in one. 

The bjp and congress have won one seat each in two constituencies in Karnataka, the congress in two constituencies in Rajasthan, and the bjp in three constituencies in Madhya Pradesh.

Trinamool congress MP saugata roy has said that the BJP's story is over in West bengal as the bjp has suffered setbacks in most states. He said people are saddened by the actions of the bjp government.
