2 restaurants close, 2 others have over 30 violations in Fort Worth health inspections

Health inspectors in Fort Worth closed two restaurants for serious health code violations and found more than 30 violations at two other restaurants in inspections between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23, according to data from the City of Fort Worth compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Church’s Chicken on Lackland Road and Wingstop on Avondale Haslet Road were closed for serious health code violations. Two other restaurants received more than 30 health code violations, forcing them to fix the most serious of the violations immediately. The restaurants with more than 30 violations were reinspected after 48 hours.

The Church’s Chicken on Lackland Road was closed during an Oct. 21 inspection in which it received 32 violations, including live insects in the store. It was reopened the next day after it received seven violations in a follow-up inspection.

The Wingstop on Avondale Haslet Road had a walk-in cooler that was not operational, according to the health inspector who visited the store on Oct. 22, causing the city to shut the restaurant down until that issue could be corrected.

Thai Terrace on Vickery Boulevard received 36 violations in an Oct. 19 inspection and later received 20 violations in an Oct 21 follow-up.

Concrete Cowboy on Crockett Street received 32 violations Oct. 25. Data from the city does not indicate a follow-up inspection conducted during that reporting period.

Restaurants are given scores that increase with each violation found. A score of zero is perfect, while a score of more than 30 will result in the restaurant having to clean up the worst problems immediately and fix others within 48 hours.

Don Carmen Pupuseria received a perfect score in its Oct. 22 inspection.
