Maj Gen Dinesh takes over charge as ADG AR

Imphal, November 01 2021: Major general Dinesh Kumar Singh on Monday assumed the prestigious appointment of the Additional Director General of Assam Rifles.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Dinesh Kumar was commissioned into the Brigade of Guards in 1990 and is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla; Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Defence Services Staff College, Wellington; College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad and National Defence College, New Delhi.
In an illustrious career spanning more than three decades, he had commanded his battalion in the counter insurgency area, served extensively in the northeast and also as a DIG of a Sector in Assam and a company commander in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
The General Officer has also been served as an ADC to the Chief of Army Staff, as instructor and adjutant at National Defence Academy, GSO-1 of an Armoured Brigade, Defence Attache in Brazil and Brigadier AFTI at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, New Delhi.
Major general Dinesh Kumar has been decorated with Sena Medal and commended with COAS.
Dinesh Kumar on his first day laid a wreath at the Assam Rifles War Memorial at Laitkor, Shillong to honour the braves who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and also interacted with various appointments of Headquarters of Directorate General of Assam Rifles, the release added.
