Delhi Commission for Women has taken suo-motu cognisance on the reports of online rape threats to Indian skipper Viral Kohli’s nine-month-old daughter after the India vs Pakistan match. In the World Cup’s India vs Pakistan match, India lost by 10 wickets and soon after that, some people started sending hate messages to the Indian cricket team players on social media.
Recently, Virat Kohli was under the radar, and some social media users started giving online rape threats to his nine-month-old daughter after India lost the recent matches. The DCW, in the notice, asked the Deputy Commissioner of Police to provide them with a copy of FIR, details of accused identified & arrested, detailed action taken report by November 8.
The chairperson of the women body, Swati Maliwal said the online rape threats to a child is shameful. She said that the Indian team has made everyone proud thousands of times, why this silliness in defeat.
The DCW also took note of a tweet posted by a user threatening to rape Virat-Anushka’s daughter. The post was made from the account @Criccrazygirl; the handle has since been deleted. However, some netizens have claimed that the tweet was made from a Pakistani account.

Earlier, Mohammad Shami was being trolled and several users hurled abuses at him as India lost to Pakistan. After that, Virat Kohli told the press reporters during a pre-match press conference on the eve of the Super 12 encounter against New Zealand that attacking someone over their religion is the most pathetic thing one can do as a human. He further said that people take out their frustration because they have no understanding of what they do.
