Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:40AM

AVADHSUGAR(up 4.09%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 3.45%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.95%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 2.78%), Rana Sugars(up 2.36%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 2.11%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 2.03%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.92%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.89%) and BAJAJHIND(up 1.87%) were among the top gainers.

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 2.56%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.58%) and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.54%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 56.55 points down at 17873.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 215.97 points at 59922.49 at around 10:40AM.

Maruti Suzuki(up 3.47%), NTPC(up 2.38%), Tata Motors(up 1.31%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.14%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.88%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.86%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.86%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.85%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.63%) and Bajaj Finance(up 0.6%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 2.38%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.31%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.27%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.25%), Tata Steel(down 1.08%), Reliance Industries(down 1.02%), UPL Ltd(down 0.99%), Grasim Industries(down 0.84%), JSW Steel(down 0.78%) and UltraTech Cement(down 0.64%) were trading in the red.
