Another air carrier is flying out of the Eugene Airport.
“Aha” now offers nonstop flights to and from Reno, Nevada. This comes just before the start of the busy holiday season.
When you look at departure information from now on at the Eugene Airport, you might notice a new airline with an interesting name.
“Let’s have that ‘Aha’ moment when you discover something new or something exciting,” said David Perlitz, the Director of Airport Guest Services. “Aha stands for air, hotel, and adventure.”
Aha is now in service out of Eugene to Reno, giving people a single-flight option to get to the Lake Tahoe area.
Perlitz says flight services for the Aha airline started late last month and celebrated the new airline Monday with a water salute.
Some planes are marked as express jets, which is Aha’s parent company in Atlanta, Georgia.
As year 2 of the covid-19 pandemic wears on, business is looking like pre-pandemic times.
“It just shows that there’s a lot of leisure travelers in the area and we’re excited because now we got sports happening, performing arts coming back and we start to layer that on, and we’re looking forward to a good winter,” said Andy Vobora, with Travel Lane County.
This likely won’t be the last we hear about new carriers at EUG.
Martz says other airlines are in talks right now to begin services.
