Ferozepur: Three youths of the Mallanwala area died in a road accident which took place on Saturday night on the Ferozepur-Mallanwala road near Bhediya village here. The deceased have been identified as Mandeep Singh (28), Amandeep Sharma (25) and Gurvinder Singh (25). OC
Bid to smuggle paddy foiled
Abohar: An attempt to smuggle 150 quintals of paddy from Chak 22GB village of Sriganganagar for unauthorised sale at the Abohar new grain market has been foiled. On the complaint of Market Committee secretary Baljinder Singh, the police booked and arrested two tractor-trailer drivers Dara Singh and Tarsem Singh. OC
4 booked for illegal mining
Fazilka: The police have booked four persons for illegal sand mining. Sources said Jaj Singh of Dhani Natha Singh and Parmatma Singh of Dhani Phoola Singh were carrying two sand-laden tractor-trailers to sell it in Jalalabad. In another case, Gobind Singh of Hauz Gandhar village and Joginder Singh of Ojhanwali village were booked and two sand-laden tractor-trailers were seized. OC
