If you're on the hunt for a bargain on Apple's HomePod, your search is officially over. While some sites showcase just about every shop and website where you can buy the HomePod or HomePod mini, discounted or not, we've manually scoured the web and, using our tech expertise, handpicked the best value deals available right now.

If you're on the hunt for a great HomePod or HomePod mini deal, the current offering is scarce to say the least, but here are some of the best you'll find right now in the UK:

1. Apple HomePod Mini

From: Apple

Was: £99

Now: £89  (£10 off)

Apple itself has permanently discounted the HomePod Mini by £10, bringing it down to £89 - and it's available in new colours too. It really is mini at 3in tall, but it's just as smart as its bigger sibling.

Best HomePod mini deals right now

The HomePod mini was introduced in autumn 2020 with an RRP of £99/$99: an appealing price that (unlike that of the full-size HomePod) is within reach for the average budget. Then it dropped by a further £10 in the UK when a new range of colours were announced on 18 October 2021. The RRP at time of writing is £89/$99.

It's certainly more budget-friendly than the standard HomePod, which Apple has since discontinued, and as the name indicates, it's pretty small - no really, it's around 3in tall. But despite the small exterior, it still offers great audio playback capabilities, access to Siri and all the other smarts available on the full-size HomePod.

The catch is that the price makes it incredibly popular, with deals non-existent right now. You'd be lucky enough to find it in stock right now:

It's worth noting that Apple has officially discontinued the first-generation HomePod, and for now at least we aren't seeing any retailers selling the older models.

Over the summer of 2020, resellers were selling the original HomePod for £199. Unfortunately for prospective buyers, it looks like they were pretty successful at clearing out old stock.

If you do find one on sale you should keep in mind that before Apple discontinued it, it sold for around £279 in the UK following a price reduction in April 2019, putting it in line with the likes of Google's Home Max speaker.

But why was the price so much higher than the competition? Apple has focused primarily on audio quality with the HomePod, offering premium-level room-filling audio that can be automatically tweaked depending on where the speaker is in the room.

It's worth noting that now the main HomePod has been discontinued, it's entirely possible that future software updates will be exclusive to the smaller HomePod mini, so if the full-size model isn't smart enough for you right now, chances are it never will be.

If there are any deals at the moment - or for that matter, if anyone is actually selling the original HomePod - you will see the best deals below:

Where to find HomePod deals

Generally speaking, Apple isn't a company that joins in with the sales bonanzas. But, while Apple doesn't offer discounts on its range, other retailers do.

We've seen the likes of Amazon, John Lewis and other UK retailers posting discounts and deals on Apple products including the HomePod, and that's likely to continue now that the product has been officially discontinued - retailers will need to shift existing stock, after all!

You've even got UK carriers getting in on the HomePod action, with the likes of EE offering existing customers the option of spreading the cost of the speaker over the course of 11 months, although you'll be paying above the RRP for the pleasure.

You've also traditionally had the option of heading to Apple's Refurb Store to pick up a discounted HomePod, but these are out of stock right now. The refurbished models are (as the name suggests) pre-owned, but Apple meticulously checks every unit before shipping them out to consumers so you shouldn't notice much of a difference in quality compared to a brand-new unit.

If you want to find out more about the smart speaker before picking one up, take a look at our HomePod review. We also run through exactly what the HomePod can do here. We compare the HomePod to the competition here, and there's also a list of the best smart speakers available on our sister site Tech Advisor for those that want more inspiration.

If you see a deal you like the look of, don't hesitate - HomePod deals don't stick around for long!

When is Black Friday 2021? Should you wait for a better deal?

Black Friday arrives on Friday 26 November this year, followed by Cyber Monday on 29 November, which leads to the question: should you wait until then for a better deal?

Yes, and no. If you urgently need a new iPhone or Mac now and you see a stellar discount today, it's easy: pick it up. If you have the luxury of waiting until November however, it may pay off.

There's no need to wait for 26 November itself, of course. In the past, the biggest and best Black Friday deals were typically reserved for the big day, but now Black Friday deals appear all through November.

If you see dramatic Black Friday discounts before 26 November, just go for it! Some retailers that hold pre-Black Fridays sales also promise that prices won't go any lower on Black Friday itself and offer to refund customers back the difference if it does. We're answering all your Black Friday-related questions here.
