Patna, Nov 01 (UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the Bihar government was on alert and taking all required measures to check spread of Corona virus during the festive season in Bihar.
Mr Kumar, after " Janata ke Darbar mein Mukhya Mantri " programme organised at CM secretariat premises, told media persons that the state government was alert and taking all steps to check spread of Covid during festive season in Bihar. 'It was true that Corona pandemic was well under control in Bihar and number of Covid-19 positive cases was very low but one would have to be very careful to ensure that Corona infection could not spread, ' he added.
The chief minister said that he had directed the authorities concerned to keep strict vigil on those coming to Bihar from other parts of the country, specially those regions where the number of Corona positive cases were still high. Tests were being carried out on people coming to Bihar during festive season he said adding that they would also be vaccinated, if needed.
Mr Kumar said that more than two lakhs tests had been conducted per day to detect Covid positive cases. Whatever Corona positive cases were being detected, were found in people coming from other parts of the country, he noted.
The chief minister said that performance of Bihar on vaccination had been very impressive. All efforts would be made to accelerate the pace of vaccination to protect the people from getting infected with Covid-19, he added.
