SP Automotive Shows Renders Of Cubicle EV And Zion FCV

SP Automotive unveiled the Chaos earlier today, but that wasn’t the only thing the company had to show as they also released renderings of the Cubicle EV and Zion FCV.

Little is known about the models, but the Cubicle is a two-seat electric vehicle that is slated to produce up to 220 hp.

While details are lacking, the pictures show a futuristic EV with a largely transparent upper body. We can also see a panoramic glass roof, a floating full-width taillight and what appears to be covered wheels. They’re joined by a small rear diffuser and a step-like front end.

The Zion is the more interesting of the two as it’s a five-seat luxury car that features sleek styling and an expansive greenhouse. The company says the model will ride on 22-inch wheels and measure 198 inches (5,030 mm) long, 80.3 inches (2,040 mm) wide and 53 inches (1,345 mm) tall with a wheelbase that spans 90.5 inches (2,298 mm).

To put those numbers into perspective, the model would be 2.2 inches (56 mm) longer than the BMW 5-Series but have a 26.6 inch (676 mm) shorter wheelbase. The claimed wheelbase is so short, it’s even dwarfed by the Chevrolet Spark which has a wheelbase that spans 93.9 inches (2,385 mm). Given this, the number is likely a mistake so we wouldn’t put much faith into it.

Speaking of things we wouldn’t put much faith into, let’s take a look at the projected performance specifications. The Zion is said to have outputs ranging from 680 hp to 1,750 hp, which will allow for 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) times of between 1.8 and 3.5 seconds. We’re a bit skeptical, but only time will tell.
