NOIDA: A 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten up by two parking lot staffers at Sector 18 market on Sunday. A purported video of the incident has been widely shared on social media in which the men can be seen thrashing the youth after he parked his vehicle on the roadside. The two have been arrested, police said.
The person who was thrashed has been identified as Chandan Kumar, a resident of Mahagun Manor in Sector 50, Noida
Munish Chauhan, SHO, Sector 20 police station, said the incident took place between 3.30pm and 4pm on Sunday. "The man reached the market and went to shop after parking his car along the road. The spot was not marked for parking by the Noida Authority. After a while, some parking lot staff members came, put a wheel clamp and locked the vehicle," he said.
"When the man returned and found the vehicle locked, he tried checking with the parking staff. This led into an argument and Kumar was beaten up. Some people came to help Kumar and later, they informed the police," he added.
The accused have been identified as Lokendra, a resident of Tappal, and Jatin, from Bulandshahr. Both work under a contractor in the market.
"Kumar filed a written complaint and a non-cognisable report (NCR) has been registered against the two men under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC. They have been arrested," SHO said.
