CM Channi faces wrath of teachers & farmers during his one day visit to Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Oct 31 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi faced wrath of agitating teachers and farmers during his one day hectic visit to the city on Sunday.
The Chief Minister was on an outreach program to the Congress MLAs here to prepare a road map for the Punjab Assembly polls scheduled for early next year.
The agitating teachers tried to block the road near Nam Dev Chowk but the police stopped them from doing so by putting barricades. The teachers alleged that they were expecting that Channi would listen to them and assure them of resolving their problems but he has also been following VIP culture and has no time for the people aggrieved by the government policies.
The teachers are on the agitating path for the last four days and have even begun a hunger strike at the main bus stand in favour of their demands which include publication of advertisements in the newspapers for the recruitment of 9000 posts of BEd-TET teachers.

At the residence of Congress MLA Bawa Henry, Channi invited a group of ten farmers to discuss their problems with him who were trying to meet him.

Channi met Rajinder Beri, Susheel Rinku and Bawa Henri at their residences and discussed the poll strategy. He also met former PPCC chief and ex MP Mohinder Singh KP who is also his relative.
The Chief Minister also met traders and industrialists of the city at the residence of MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and assured them of resolving their problems related to GST refund and certain permissions required for the startups.
The Chief Minister paid obeisance at the revered Shakti Peeth Sri Devi Talaab Mandi and sought blessings from Maa Durga to serve the state more zealously and diligently. He reached Sri Devi Talab Mandir complex in the morning to offer prayers and sought blessings of almighty to give enormous strength to him for serving the people of state with all humility and dedication. CM Channi offered prayers to seek Mata Rani’s blessings to serve the people of the state regardless of caste, colour, creed and religion to create a harmonious society.
The Chief Minister said that the ethos of love, brotherhood and harmony in the society will be maintained at every cost and will ever remain their top priority. He thanked Mata Rani for bestowing upon him the responsibility to serve the people of Punjab with sincerity, dedication and commitment to fulfill their aspirations. CM Channi said that it was a gratifying experience for him to visit this holy shrine, which is a fountainhead of inspiration and positivity for millions of people from around the world.
The Chief Minister said he had come to this shrine to pray for the state, its peace and development, for which his government is fully committed. CM Channi said by the God’s grace he is leaving no stone unturned to come up to the expectations of people and top priority is being accorded by the government to implement pro-people and development oriented policies.
