Samsung has now expanded its Android 12 beta testing program to cover foldable smartphones. Both Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are now receiving Android 12 beta in South Korea and India. These builds are based on One UI 4.0, the latest iteration of Samsung's custom Android skin meant for its devices.
This is public beta testing which means anyone with any or both of these foldables can apply. The application can be sent using the Samsung Members application. Once you will get selected, you will receive the latest One UI 4.0 Android 12 beta version notification like you do for any software update. It should be noted that the beta update is currently limited to unlocked variant users.
As per XDA, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 beta testers are currently receiving F711BXXU2ZUJF and F926BXXU1ZUJF builds respectively. It is said to be similar to the third beta build Samsung released for Galaxy S21 beta testers. It comprises the final AOSP code and has features like Android 12 wallpaper-based colors and privacy-focused features.
There is no doubt that beta builds are an exciting way to try out new software features and experiences ahead of the masses. But like we always say, there is always a chance of running into bugs and performance issues. This is the reason it is recommended to become a beta tester if you are comfortable facing those situations, especially if you are considering installing the beta on your primary daily driver.
