DUBAI, United Arab Emirates: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will miss his team’s last two group games at the cricket T20 World Cup due to a hamstring injury.
Shakib sustained a left lower-hamstring strain during fielding in the Group 1 match against the West Indies at Sharjah on Friday.
He is ruled out from participation in the last two matches of the tournament, Bangladesh team doctor Debashis Chowdhury said in a statement on Sunday.
Bangladesh is likely out of contention for a place in the semifinals after losing to Sri Lanka, England and the West Indies. It plays South Africa on Tuesday before taking on Australia two days later.
