CHENNAI: Chennai has 40.54 lakh voters, according to the draft electoral roll released on Monday. There are 19.92 lakh male voters, 20.60 lakh female
voters and 1073 transsexual voters in the city.
Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner
Gagandeep Singh Bedi released the
draft roll for all the 16 assembly constituencies in the city.
The revision of the electoral roll is in progress. This will be placed in zonal offices of zones 4-10 and 13 as well as at the booths for people to review them. People can check if the names of their family members have been updated in the rolls.
In addition, those who want to add their names as well as those who turn 18 as on January 1, 2022, those who want to get names deleted and those who have shifted their residence can approach the assistant returning officers and fill Form 6, Form 7, Form 8 and Form 8-A respectively along with a copy of the necessary proofs. The applications will be taken from November 1-30. In addition, special camps will be held on November 13, 14, 27 and 28.
