There has been a major uptick in dengue cases in Delhi, and that has led to a worrisome situation in the national capital. Delhi has reported around 1,000 cases of the disease this year. Recently, in the last week, 280 cases of dengue were reported in Delhi. And, on October 18, Delhi recorded its first death due to vector-borne disease.
Now, as the situation in Delhi is deteriorating because of the rising cases, Union Minister for health Mansukh Mandaviya is going to chair a review meeting today as the cases are rising in the national capital with each passing day.
It is reported that the meeting will take place at 10 am. And, in the meeting, the health minister will ask the CM Arvind Kejriwal led government AAP on how the Centre can assist the Delhi government to tackle the situation.
What is the government doing to tackle the dengue surge situation in Delhi?
It is reported that Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Delhi government has asked the hospitals that a third of the beds that were earlier reserved for Covid-19 patients, can now be used for patients suffering from dengue, malaria and Chikungunya.
Jain also said that the Delhi government is fully prepared to prevent the spread of dengue and all preparations for the treatment of the vector-borne disease have been made in all the hospitals.
He also said that the government is running 10 Hafte, 10 Baje, 10 Minute campaigns and it has been effective to prevent dengue in Delhi.
In other news, the LPG prices for commercial cylinders have now been increased by Rs 266. The new rates are effective from today that is November 1, 2021.
