Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:02AM

Uttam Sugar Mills(up 2.38%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.63%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.49%), EID Parry(up 1.27%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 1.05%), AVADHSUGAR(up 1.05%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 0.92%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.73%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.64%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers.

Shree Renuka Sugars(down 4.99%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 1.86%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.38%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.04%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.67%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 0.37%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.32%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.24%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 69.3 points up at 17740.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 173.19 points at 59480.12 at around 11:02AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 4.49%), IndusInd Bank(up 4.19%), Tata Steel(up 3.53%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.33%), Grasim Industries(up 3.02%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.78%), HCL Technologies(up 2.47%), JSW Steel(up 1.82%), Infosys(up 1.61%) and Tech Mahindra(up 1.49%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 3.61%), Bajaj Finserv(down 3.12%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.55%), Reliance Industries(down 1.5%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.1%), Tata Motors(down 0.79%), Nestle India(down 0.7%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.7%), ICICI Bank(down 0.56%) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
