Won’t allow BSF in Punjab beyond previous limit: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa

Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Sunday said as long he was the Home Minister he would not allow the BSF to enter the area beyond its previous limit.

The central government recently expanded BSF’s jurisdiction area to 50 km.

Addressing party workers in Tarn Taran after paying obeisance at Gurdwara Beer Baba Budda Sahib, he instructed officials to work according to the wishes of the MLAs. He warned the officials that in case they did not oblige the public representatives, they would face consequences.

On the query of newsmen about the progress in Bargari sacrilege incidents, Randhawa said the case was in the court. Others who addressed the gathering included MLAs Kulbir Singh Zira and Sukhpal Singh Bhullar.
