13 Arunachal districts attain ‘zero COVID’ status, active caseload stands at 109

Itanagar, Oct 31 (UNI) Thirteen of the 26 districts in Arunachal Pradesh, including the Itanagar Capital Complex,

have attained ‘zero COVID’ status as the frontier state continues to see a steady decline in daily COVID-19 infections.

The districts which reached the zero COVID position are Anjaw, Papum Pare, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, Kamle, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Leparada, Lower Siang, Pakke Kessang, Siang, Upper Siang and Upper Subansiri.

Meanwhile, the state registered 11 new virus cases during the past 24 hours that took its overall case tally to 55,154, a senior health official said.

In contrast, 10 people recuperated in the period that upped its total number of recovered cases to 54,765 while the state’s death toll remains unchanged at 280, he said. The state has 109 active cases at the moment.

Four of the fresh cases were detected in Lohit district, which reported the state’s first virus case in April 2020. Lower Dibang Valley contracted three and Changlang two, while one each came from East Siang and Tawang, the official said, adding that six of the total cases turned out to be symptomatic.

Tawang leads the tally of active cases with 24, followed by Lower Dibang Valley at 18, East Siang at 16 and West Kameng at 15, while Itanagar Capital Complex has six active cases.

Of the 109 COVID-19 positive cases, 98 patients are recuperating under home isolation. The state’s recovery rate stands at 99.29 per cent, while the overall positivity rate stands at 0.20 per cent and the case fatality rate is at 0.51 per cent, as per the figures released by the State Health Department.UNI TD SJC

Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (UNI) Odisha reported 488 new Covid positive cases including 77 in the age group of 0 to 18 during the past 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 10,41,457.Health and Family Welfare department sources said of the 488 new cases detected in the state while 285 were from the quarantine centres, 203 were local contact cases.Khordha district recorded the highest number of 250 cases, followed by Cuttack 54 and Mayurbhanj 19.Official sources said four more covid deaths were reported , from three districts taking the total fatalities in the state to 8333 during the past 24 hours.While Khordha reported two deaths, Puri and Mayurbhanja reported one death each.With 490 covid patients recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours the total recoveries in the state went up to 10,28,607.The active cases in the state stood at 4374 .UNI BD KK.
