Zayn Malik's Statement in Full: The Singer's Response to Yolanda Hadid Dispute Allegations

Zayn Malik has responded to the allegation that he "struck" Yolanda Hadid. Unnamed sources told TMZ on Thursday that Hadid alleged Malik hit her last week and that she was considering filing a police report. No details were shared about what Hadid claims caused the alleged assault. Malik "adamantly" denied striking Hadid.

Noting "there is divisiveness" around the issue, the pop star shared a lengthy statement on his Twitter account on Thursday, stating he "agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago" in a bid to "create a safe and private space" for his daughter.

Malik shares a daughter named Khai with fashion model Gig Hadid, who is Yolanda's daughter. But "despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment...this has been 'leaked' to the press," Malik tweeted.

In a later statement to TMZ on Thursday, the singer said: "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details."

"I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private," the former One Direction member said.

The website also reported on Thursday that Zayn and Gigi were no longer together. Unnamed sources reportedly familiar with the situation told the publication that the couple broke up over a month ago.

Gigi also issued a statement following the latest allegation. A representative for the fashion model told E! News: "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time."

Newsweek has contacted the representatives for Malik as well as Yolanda and Gigi Hadid for further comment.

Zayn Malik's Full Statement Following Yolanda Hadid Allegation

Below is the full text of the statement by Malik shared on his Twitter account on October 28.

"As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren't thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago."

"This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press.

"I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves," the statement concluded.
