Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:28AM

Inox wind(up 6.50%), Torrent Power(up 4.02%), Energy Development Company(up 3.98%), Jyoti Structures(up 2.35%), NLC India(up 1.92%), Adani Power(up 1.50%), Suzlon Energy(up 1.48%), Orient Green Power Company(up 1.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.05%) and Karma Energy(up 0.92%) were among the top gainers.

Reliance Power(down 4.73%), Indowind Energy(down 4.61%), K.P.I. Global Infras(down 3.63%), Adani Transmissions(down 2.84%), Tata Power Company(down 1.74%), NHPC(down 1.29%), RTNPOWER(down 1.27%), CESC(down 1.18%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.14%) and NTPC(down 1.06%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 3.85 points up at 17861.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 54.68 points at 59930.02 at around 11:28AM.

JSW Steel(up 2.33%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.32%), Tata Steel(up 2.11%), Cipla(up 1.82%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.61%), State Bank of India(up 1.52%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.52%), HCL Technologies(up 1.52%), Tata Motors(up 1.46%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.36%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.18%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.87%), HDFC(down 1.53%), NTPC(down 1.06%), Wipro(down 1.0%), Reliance Industries(down 0.97%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.57%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.54%), Eicher Motors(down 0.52%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.42%) were trading in the red.
