NGT stays Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project works in Telangana

Hyderabad,Oct 29 (UNI) National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday stayed the construction works of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project in Telangana.



It directed the state government to stop the works of the project taken up on the Krishna river till it obtains required permission.

The NGT, following the Andhra Pradesh government's objection, noted that the Telangana government did not taken necessary permission including Environmental clearance.

The NGT was also not satisfied with the replies sent by Telangana government on the objection raised by the AP government over the project.
