Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:15AM

Euro India Fresh Foods(up 3.40%), Dangee Dums(up 1.30%), Parag Milk(up 0.87%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.83%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.82%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.50%), Bajaj Consumer(up 0.43%), Emami(up 0.34%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.12%) and Varun Beverages(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

P & G Hygiene(down 2.19%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.02%), ADF Foods(down 1.81%), Zydus Wellness(down 1.47%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.86%), Umang Dairies(down 0.79%), Dabur India(down 0.77%), Gillette India(down 0.67%), Nakoda Group(down 0.60%) and Dodla Dairy(down 0.51%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 4.8 points down at 17852.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 35.4 points at 59949.3 at around 10:15AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.25%), Tata Steel(up 2.22%), Tata Motors(up 1.63%), JSW Steel(up 1.62%), State Bank of India(up 1.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.14%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.1%), ITC(up 1.02%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.01%) and Coal India(up 0.96%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 1.57%), HDFC(down 1.52%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.36%), Reliance Industries(down 1.12%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.9%), NTPC(down 0.76%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.73%), Wipro(down 0.56%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.52%) and Axis Bank(down 0.51%) were trading in the red.
