Active Covid cases dip to 844

Imphal, October 27 2021: With 97 COVID-19 patients discharged on Wednesday, the active cases of the State have dipped further to 844 as compared to 873 updated yesterday.
The recovery rate has also improved to 97.76 percent, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The 97 people were discharged from home isolation (15), JNIMS (22) and CCCs (60) .
At least 70 new COVID-19 cases and 2 fatalities were also reported in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,23,473 and total fatalities to 1917 .
Imphal West had the highest number of positive cases with 31 new Covid cases followed by Imphal East (20), Ukhrul and Churachandpur (4 each), Bishnupur and Kakching (3 each), Thoubal (2) while Kamjong, Chandel and Kangpokpi had 1 case each.
Out of the 2 fatalities which were reported from Imphal East and Imphal West districts, one had commodities while one had taken the 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The positive cases were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (61) .
Positivity Rate
As 1974 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the daily test positivity rate updated on Wednesday was 3.5 percent.
Imphal East had the highest TPR amongst the districts with 5.8 (20 cases out of 346 samples) followed by Kamjong with 5.3 (1 case out of 19 samples) and Imphal West with 5.2 (31 cases out of 592 samples).
All the remaining districts reported TPR value less than 5 .
Vaccination
Altogether 10,222 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered yesterday.
With this, the cumulative number of doses that have been administered so far has risen to 19,15,974 .
At least 64.22 percent of the eligible population of the State have been vaccinated with 1st dose and 34.67 percent have been fully vaccinated as on October 26 .
Jiribam, Imphal West and Imphal East have vaccinated 58 percent, 51.95 percent and 44.10 percent respectively of its eligible population with both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
Senapati, Kamjong and Ukhrul are at the bottom in the vaccination rate with only 10.87 percent, 12.98 percent and 15.12 percent of its adult population receiving both the doses respectively.
