Three pillars from the Ganesha and Murugan temples on Thiruvannamalai Theradi Road have been stolen, according to devotees. The Durga Amman festival kicks off the Karthika Deepam Festival at the Annamalaiyar Temple in Thiruvannamalai on November 7. On the 16th of last month, the Bandhakal Mukurtham was held in front of the Annamalaiyar temple Rajagopuram to complete preliminary preparations for the Karthika Deepam Festival. Following that, work on repairing the hunger chariots stationed along the search road began. As a result, the iron and fibreglass plates that had been erected to safeguard the starvation chariots were removed ten days ago. Following that, no maintenance work was done.

Two Ganesha chariot wheels and one Murugan chariot axle are said to have gone missing. During the maintenance work, the monks will be protected by police at the request of the temple administration. No similar procedures appear to have been followed this year. As a result, believers claim that mystery individuals took the three pillars of the Ganesha and Murugan temples.
