Ivan Toney ended a four-game goal drought as Brentford stormed into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals for the second straight year with a 2-1 win at Championship side Stoke.
The Bees made nine changes from their last Premier League line-up but it was two out of the three who retained their places who put them into a 2-0 half-time lead away from home.
Sergi Canos' shot from the edge of the area went through several bodies and into the Stoke net mid-way through the first-half, before Toney doubled the west Londoners' advantage just before half-time with a low finish from Marcus Forss' pass.
