Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:06AM

Orient Green Power Company(up 4.60%), Indowind Energy(up 4.59%), Karma Energy(up 3.01%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 2.86%), Tata Power Company(up 2.40%), NLC India(up 1.95%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.68%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.53%), JSW Energy(up 1.39%) and ADANIGREEN(up 1.19%) were among the top gainers.

RTNPOWER(down 2.50%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.60%), Adani Power(down 1.20%), ABBPP&SLTD(down 0.79%), KEC International(down 0.74%), Suzlon Energy(down 0.71%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.71%), PTC India(down 0.68%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.45%) and Alstom T&D India(down 0.35%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 34.4 points up at 18302.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 93.16 points at 61443.42 at around 11:06AM.

Asian Paints(up 4.79%), Divis Laboratories(up 3.9%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.78%), SBI Life(up 2.19%), ICICI Bank(up 2.03%), State Bank of India(up 1.97%), UPL Ltd(up 1.49%), Shree Cement(up 1.37%), Cipla(up 1.27%) and Bharti Airtel(up 1.26%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Axis Bank(down 5.02%), Bajaj Finance(down 4.06%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.12%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.6%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.26%), Tata Motors(down 0.91%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.55%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.5%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.5%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.47%) were trading in the red.
