JODHPUR: Rajasthan High Court has sought reply from the state government on suspension of internet during recently held recruitment examination in the state.
Taking up the cause in public interest, the petitioner stated that the decision of suspending internet leads to disruption in various activities.
Allowing the petition, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Akil Kureshi and Justice Sandeep Mehta sought reply from the government listing the matter for next hearing on November 23 on seeking time from the AAG for taking instructions from the state government.
Petitioner Mahipal Singh stated in his petition the decision of the state government to suspend mobile internet services during the time when the examinations and entrance tests for posts in the government set up are being conducted results into great disruption in various services such as banking and education. Number of students taking online classes and coaching may be deprived of their valuable time and miss their important lectures or sessions.
He said that recently internet suspension was resorted to during REET examination and Patwari examination and that two without any prior or proper information to the masses in some districts terming the decision absolutely arbitrary.
