No option to give direct feedback as of now
WhatsApp currently gives no option to rate a business account directly. With the new feature, users will be able to rate messages from business accounts on WhatsApp.
The feature will be available only for business accounts only
Whatsapp users will be able to rate messages received from business accounts only. It will not be available for messages received from regular WhatsApp users.
Will the new feature break end-to-end encryption?
When a user rates a message, WhatsApp cannot see its content and cannot see who rated that message. The feedback will be anonymous. The feature reportedly does not break end-to-end encryption of messages and therefore the rated messages remain invisible for WhatsApp.
What does the message rating feature mean for business account users on WhatsApp?
WhatsApp and business accounts would be able to see general feedback about sent messages from the business account. However, they will not be able to see who rated them. In its rating alert, WhatsApp states that these ratings will help businesses improve their messages to customers.
Is the feature available for all WhatsApp users currently?
No, this feature is reportedly rolling out for beta users on Android. A few iOS users have mentioned seeing it as well.
