Samsung announces One UI Book 4, custom skin for its Windows PCs

27 October 2021 0

At its ongoing developers’ conference, Samsung gave a brief of a new UI it has built for its Galaxy Book devices. It is the One UI Book 4 which will work as a layer on top of Samsung’s Windows devices. The name simply implies Samsung’s intention to make the visual experience of its Windows and Android-based devices more cohesive. Running a similar UI language will make the look and feel of Windows machines more aligned with Samsung’s visual aesthetic.

Samsung just shared one slide of the look of this new One UI Book 4 UI at the event. The rest of the elements of this design are still well wrapped in the sheath.

The company, however, revealed the all-new UI will be available for the Galaxy Book Pro 360, Galaxy Book Pro, Galaxy Book Flex 2, Galaxy Book, and Galaxy Book Odyssey. Presumably, it would likely be available for future Galaxy laptops as well.

It is currently unknown when Samsung decides to push the new UI to its aforementioned devices.

It is great to see that Samsung is working to create an environment that brings its Windows-based and Android-based devices closer. Samsung has already done a lot in this area, for instance, it is one of the first adopters of protocols that help Windows PC and Android phone to work together. Now, by creating a completely new UI, Samsung is expected to unlock new capabilities as well and bring more fluidity in operation.
