    Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.89% in a weak market

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.89 per cent up at 11328.3.

    Agarwal said the global economy is showing clear signs of recovery. The second wave of Covid-19 is ebbing in India with total active cases at less than 20 per cent of May highs.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

    Tata Motors(up 3.35 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.41 per cent), Bosch(up 1.3 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.13 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 1.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    TIINDIA(down 0.57 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Auto index was up 0.89 per cent at 11328.3 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 12.45 points at 18137.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 35.97 points at 60931.08.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Bank of Baroda, Tata Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Mahickra Chemicals, JIK Industries, Arihant Found, Home First Finance Company India Ltd. and Ushanti Colour Chem hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while D K Enterprises Global Ltd., SREI Infra Fin, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Inventure Grwth and JMT Auto hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
