Abstract: Complex systems have two basic ingredients, established components with interaction. Starting from the interaction of a population of a single component to the multi-component interaction are the fundamental basis of natural and artificial systems including living and non-living systems.
The activity of each component in a complex system is nonlinear in nature driving the system far away from equilibrium and dissipative in nature such that emergent properties of the system are resulted from the integration of such activities. Such systems are generally established by large scale coarse grained functional modules which are adaptive to beneficial perturbations and are self-organized.
Proofs of these properties are indeed from the large scale data analysis of natural systems including human genome organization. The question is the methods which have been developed to analyse such large scale data to dig hidden patterns in such systems be used for the prediction and repairment of disturbances in them. In this talk the speaker will try to address these issues and prove that these can be done up to certain extent till now from large scale data analysis and mathematical modelling.
