South Australia to ease border restrictions for travellers next month

South Australia has decided to reopen its borders to people in New South Wales and Victoria within a few weeks. Starting November 23, border restrictions will be removed for fully-vaccinated interstate travellers.

Travellers from all other states and territories who want to enter SA will also need to be fully vaccinated. The quarantine period for fully vaccinated international arrivals will also be reduced from 14 days to seven days beginning from the day of reopening.

International arrivals who are unvaccinated will be required to complete 14 days of quarantine. The limit on home gatherings within the state will increase from 20 to 30 visitors. However, mask mandate will remain in place in indoor settings and the current density and activity limits will not change.

Quarantine arrangements for fully vaccinated overseas arrivals will be removed when the state reaches the 90 per cent double vaccinated mark. Further restrictions will also ease in the state at that time but high-risk activities, such as nightclubs and standing alcohol consumption, will only be permitted for fully vaccinated people.

Mask mandate will remain in place in high-risk settings such as hospitals and aged-care facilities. Premier Steven Marshall said the state is expected to have reached its 80 per cent fully vaccinated milestone By November 23, with the 90 per cent milestone expected to be achieved before Christmas.
