Imphal, October 25 2021: Intending Congress candidate from Yaiskul AC N Helendro has urged the people of the constituency to stay vigilant against the schemes of the local MLA, especially with the polls looming in.

On Monday, Helendro was warmly welcomed in Congress party during a function organised by Yaiskul Block Congress Committee at the residence of Committee vice president Th Bikramaditya in Bamon Leikai Puritmayum Leirak on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Helendro termed as unfortunate that local MLA threatened the candidates running against him in the polls.

He then said that he decided to contest the polls as a Congress candidate based on the political history and secular principles of one of the oldest parties in the country.

Recalling his failure to contest the 2017 polls on Congress ticket due to the presence of then sitting MLA, Helendro said that he was finally able to realise his dream ahead of the upcoming poll.

He then assured of prioritizing human resource development if elected, while urging all concerned to extend support to Congress party for the development of Yaiskul AC, which had produced the first CM, the first IAS officer and the first Olympian of the state.
