Pothole hits traffic on Delhi road
Traffic remained affected on the Major P Shree Kumar Marg on Tuesday after the formation of a deep pothole on the stretch, causing inconvenience to the commuters. Taking to Twitter, the Delhi Traffic Police said "only one lane on both carriage ways is available for to and fro movement of traffic" due to formation of the pothole. (PTI)

Plea filed before Delhi HC for labelling of all products as vegetarian or non-vegetarian
A plea has been moved before the Delhi High Court seeking a direction to the Centre to examine the possibility of labelling “all items” used by the public, including home appliances and apparel, as “vegetarian” or “non-vegetarian” based on their ingredients and “items used in manufacturing process”. Justice Rekha Palli Tuesday directed that the plea, which is filed by Ram Gaua Raksha Dal — a trust working towards the welfare of cows, be listed for hearing on November 11 before a bench dealing with public interest litigations. On October 12, Lakhbir Singh was lynched, his hand chopped off and his body tied to a metal barricade at the protest venue at Kundli near the Delhi-Haryana border, a gruesome incident being blamed on a group of Nihangs. DJB to provide household water connections in upcoming colonies, intermediaries to be removed
All household water connections in Delhi will now be provided by the Delhi Jal Board itself, without any role of intermediaries, water minister Satyendar Jain Tuesday said. Jain, who chaired the 158th board meeting of the DJB, said the Delhi government is committed to laying sewer lines in all housing colonies within three years. (ANI)

Delhi records 'moderate' air quality, likely to become 'poor' in days ahead
The air quality in the national capital was in the 'moderate' category on Tuesday but may get pushed to the 'poor' zone over the next three days because of an increase in stubble burning, authorities said. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 139. It was 82 on Monday and 160 on Sunday. (PTI)
Maximum temperature settles at 25.8 deg C in Delhi
The mercury in the national capital settled at 28.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, officials said. The relative humidity was recorded at 53 per cent, according to the India Meteorological Department. The mercury rose by a few notches in the national capital on Tuesday, with the minimum temperature settling at 19.2 degrees Celsius, the officials said. (PTI)
Delhi court denies bail to MCD employee in murder case
A Delhi court has refused bail to a 58-year-old Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employee in an alleged murder case, considering the nature and gravity of accusations against him. As per the Delhi Police, the incident happened on the intervening night of September 5 and 6, 2021 in front of Valmiki Temple in Delhi's Shahdara area, where two men sustained severe injuries and were declared 'brought dead' to the hospital. The Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) of Delhi has warned of action against officials who proceed on leave without prior approval of the secretary. Man found hanging in Delhi's Neb Sarai
The body of a 25-year-old man was found hanging inside a room at an empty plot in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area on Tuesday, police said. The deceased, Sameer Khan, a resident of Sangam Vihar area, used to work as a driver earlier but had been unemployed for some months and was looking for a job, they said. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide but no suicide note was recovered from the spot and the exact cause of death will be ascertained only through a post-mortem examination whose report is awaited. A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly duping people from across the country of Rs 1.34 crore on the pretext of providing raw herbal spurge oil for profitable business, police said on Tuesday. The accused, Sonu Nagar, a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, worked at a mall in Noida. He was under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate team, they said. (PTI)
