HBO Max Europe — How to Sign Up, Where You Can Watch

HBO Max Europe, the streaming platform, has landed in Europe.

HBO Max, home to shows such as Gossip Girl, Succession, and Mare of Easttown, is now available in six European countries after previously only being made available to those living in the U.S. The service is available for some European subscribers just 7 weeks after the announcement in Copenhagen on September 8.

How To Sign Up to HBO Max Europe and Where You Can Watch

From Tuesday, October 26 until Tuesday, November 30, HBO Max Europe is offering potential subscribers a cut-price offer.

For a limited time only, customers will be able to sign up to HBO Max for half the monthly retail price for as long as they remain subscribed to the platform. If you unsubscribe and decide to return, you will pay the full retail price.

The cost of HBO Max Europe with the introductory deal is significantly lower than its competitors such as Disney and Netflix. For now, HBO Max Europe is only available in Six European territories: Spain, Andorra, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.

  • Sweden: SEK 44.50
  • Norway: NOK 44.50
  • Denmark: DKK 8.99
  • Finland: EUR 4.49
  • Spain and Andorra: EUR 4.49

After November 30, the regular offering monthly rate for HBO Max Europe will be:

  • Sweden: SEK 89.00
  • Norway: NOK 89.00
  • Denmark: DKK 79.00
  • Finland: EUR: 8.99
  • Spain and Andorra: EUR 8.99

To watch HBO Max in Europe, you must have the HBO Max app which is available via all smart TVs, game consoles, and streaming devices.

HBO Max plans to expand its platform across Europe, with HBO Max aiming to reach 21 other European and Asian countries in the future.

Christina Sulebakk, general manager for HBO Max EMEA said in a statement: "As well as bringing together the very best entertainment, movies, kids programming and original series on one streaming platform available on every screen, we are offering customers outstanding value with a once in a lifetime promotion in addition to a new annual subscription, making it easy for customers to enjoy everything they love."

What Shows are available via HBO Max Europe?

HBO Max Europe will feature the same foundational programming as the U.S. This means shows and films such as The Soprano's, Sex and the City, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, and The Big Bang Theory will be among a huge list of content.

Customers in Europe will also have access to the highly-anticipated HBO content coming soon, including the Game of Thrones prequel House of Dragon, the Suicide Squad spin-off Peacemaker, and the debut of the Sex and the City sequel, And Just Like That...

On HBO Max Europe, Nordic originals such as Beforeigners, Kamikaze, and Lust will also be made available.

Kamikaze will mark the debut of HBO's Max's first Danish original which follows the story of an 18-year-old influencer whose life is turned upside when her entire family dies in a plane crash.

Spanish originals on the platform include the animated series Poor Devil and the political satire Venga Juan.

Content from other brands such as Warner Bros, DC Universe, and Cartoon Network will also be available on HBO Max Europe.
